Mission & Vision Club Mentality

Doug Miller Soccer provides a world class environment to develop the next generation of quality soccer players. Our philosophy mirrors U.S. Soccer’s approach, emphasizing a 3:1 training-to-game ratio and a foundation built on Desire, Determination, Dedication, Respect, and Integrity. We go beyond being a soccer program—we teach values and invest in each player’s journey.

Understanding the 4 Pillars of Soccer

  • Technical: Mastery of ball control, dribbling, passing, receiving.
  • Physical: Fitness including strength, speed, agility, and endurance.
  • Tactical: Understanding systems of play and responsibilities by position.
  • Mental: Developing resilience, confidence, and focus under pressure.

Training & Match Preparation

Players must be prepared for every training session with proper gear and attitude. Coaches prepare tactically for opponents, expecting players to give full effort. The core values are:

  • Desire
  • Determination
  • Dedication
  • Respect
  • Integrity

Being a Good Teammate & Representing DMS

Respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials is expected. Players are leaders on and off the field. We emphasize punctuality, communication, and team unity. At travel events, players must follow curfews, stay in groups, and behave as DMS representatives.

Parent & Travel Expectations

  • Supportive and positive on the sidelines.
  • No coaching from parents during games or practices.
  • Respect all officials and staff—coaches handle officiating concerns.
  • Playing time must be earned and is not guaranteed to be equal.

Roles and Expectations of Positions

This section defines responsibilities and skills needed for each position—goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders, and forwards—including support, communication, and tactical awareness.
